AdBlue In your Fuel

In Cambridgeshire we have noticed a lot more instances of AdBlue contamination where an individual has poured AdBlue directly into their diesel tank. Now, what is the problem with putting AdBlue in a diesel car? Because AdBlue is primarily ionised water, it's just like pouring water in to your tank. Diesel and water do not mix whatsoever and attempting to run a diesel car on water is not going to work. In addition, the urea is very corrosive to your fuel system lines and seals and is susceptible to crystalising, obstructing injectors and filters.

If in case you put AdBlue into your fuel tank remove it as soon as possible. And obviously take care not to switch on the vehicle - not even to relocate it to a parking area. If you have started the vehicle you may in all likelihood have to have the entire fuel system cleaned and filters replaced.

Water contaminated fuel

Fuel contaminated with water, regardless of whether it's unleaded petrol or diesel, is actually an important matter to handle in a vehicle - particularly in modern common-rail engines.
